Chairwoman Krišto in Talks with Greek Prime Minister Mitsotakis

The meeting was held on the eve of an informal meeting of leaders of the region and EU countries in Athens, where the Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH will take part, upon an invitation by President of Government of the Hellenic Republic Kyriakos Mitsotakis.
Chairwoman Krišto thanked to Prime Minister Mitsotakis for a strong support extended to Bosnia and Herzegovina on its European way. She added that Bosnia and Herzegovina are two friendly countries without outstanding issues, and urged Hellenic Prime Minister Mitsotakis to additional strengthening of economic cooperation to mutual interest.
Chairwoman Krišto stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina undoubtedly belongs to the European civilisation circle, which will be proved in the time ahead. She added that priorities and focus of the Council of Ministers of BIH, and of all BIH institutions, as well, are directed to fulfilment of 8+1 requirements, i.e. 14 key priorities from the European Commission Opinion.
Speaking on work of the Council of Ministers, launching a reform agenda in the past six months, which should get intensified this and next month, Chairwoman Krišto underlined the importance of the reforms not only for a prospects of our state once in the EU, but also for stability and security of BIH and the whole region.
The importance of as soon as possible opening of the negotiating process, latest by the end 2023, of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the European Union for the sake of security, stability and strengthening of democracy and role of law.
Krišto repeated unquestionable adjustment of Bosnia and Herzegovina with common foreign and security policy of the European Union, even more for it, as a country signatory of the Stabilisation and Accession Agreement, is obliged to adjust its foreign policy with that of the EU. She emphasised that the whole region, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, feels consequences of the Russian aggression against Ukraine. She expressed her concern as to humanitarian consequences to civil population in Unkraine, adding that Bosnia and Herzegovina shares real security, political and economic concern with the European Union countries and beyond, at the global level.(end)
