Newly-Appointed Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Brojana Krišto Talks with High Representative in BIH Christian Schmidt

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto and High Representative for BIH Chistian Schmidt held a phone talks on the current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina. The High Representative congratulated to newly-appointed Chairwomen of the Council of Ministers Krišto, wishing her good lack in her future work. 

During the meeting, they discussed necessary steps ahead of Bosnia and Herzegovina, stabilisation of political situation, and importance of a quick establishment of executive and legislative authorities at all levels in BIH. Also, a need was emphasised for strengthening of functionality of BIH Institutions, with diligent work of all domestic factors, supported by the international community.

Chairwoman Krišto stressed that clear aims were adopted through directions and principles by executive and legislative authority at BIH level in 2022-2026. Among primary goals there are acceleration of the Euro-Atlantic road, which implies equality of the constitutive and other people in BIH.

They discussed necessity of limited amendments of Constitution, as well as amendments of the BIH Election Law. Krišto is hopeful and expects BIH to fulfil key criteria and priorities as soon as next year, in order to open negotiations for membership in the European Union.

High Representative Schmidt welcomed the planned moves needed to achieve agreed-to goas to contribute to securing political stability, unity and peace in BIH.
