Newly-Appointed Chairwoman Krišto Met with Lajčák in Davos

At the Forum margins, the officials had a working meeting and discussed the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina, up-coming reforms and political situation following the general elections of October 2022. They emphasised that candidate status and expected processes should secure needed breakthroughs at both internal and external area. The processes, according to Krišto, will be led in line with prescribed guidelines and principles of both executive and legislative authorities at BIH level for 2022-2026 time frame, with emphasised urgently needed amendments of the Election Law, in addition to other needed reforms.
Chairwoman Krišto said she is pleased for a fact that Bosnia and Herzegovina got the candidate status for the European Union, which is the first significant breakthrough on the EU road, after submitting a request for membership, in 2016. She said that this move contributes not only to Bosnia and Herzegovina, but to the whole region.
Also, Krišto emphasised a positive dynamics in the setting up authority after the General elections, noting dedication to reforms to secure maximum stabilisation, social-economic advancement and achievement of foreign policy priorities.
Finally, Krišto said special thanks to Special Representative of the European Union Miroslav Lajčák for his long-year contribution to the European perspective and road of Bosnia and Herzegovina towards the Euroepan Union.(end)
