Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija, with Prime Ministers of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BIH Radovan Višković and Fadil Novalić, respectively, held talks with a delegation of the World Health Organisation (WHO), led by Director of the WHO Regional Office for Europe Hans Klue. 

The meeting was attended by Minister of Civil Affairs of BIH Ankica Gudeljević, Minister of Health of Republika Srpska Alen Šeranić, and Assistant Minister for Public Health of the Federation of BIH Goran Čerkez.

Chairman Tegletija stated that the WHO delegation briefed himself and Prime Ministers of Republika Srpska Radovan Višković and of the Federation of BIH Fadil Novalić, respectively, that the COVAX mechanism portfolio will be extended to vaccines originating outside Europe.

Noting that the WHO has advocated and promoted COVAX vaccines procurement system, Tegeltija concluded that the procurement process unfolds slower than expected, however good news is that significant procurements were made for the second half of the year.

The meeting discussed the outlook of the post-pandemics world health system and BIH health system, as well.

Director Kluge said the WHO will continue to boost a more intensive distribution of vaccines against corona virus, and that the Balkans is a geopolitical priority of the WHO.

Minister Gudeljević announced signing of a new biannual cooperation agreement with the WHO. ”The agreement is a proof of needed cooperation between the WHO and BIH,, Minister Gudeljević said.
