Meeting of Chairwoman Krišto and Ambassador Murphy

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto met in Sarajevo with Ambassador of the United States do America in BIH H.E. Michael Murphy. US Ambassador’s delegation was jointed at meeting by new Deputy Head of Mission in US Embassy in BIH Daniel Koski. 

Chairwoman Krišto paid tribute to today’s 23th anniversary of horrific terrorist attack of September 11, 2001, which horrified the world,  on and drew attention to the importance of a global unity in combating radicalism and terrorism.

Chairwoman Krišto commended a continuity and strong interest of US administration for Western Balkan countries, especially for BIH. She said a strong support by the USA to joining the European Union by Bosnia and Herzegovina and Western Balkan countries represents a guarantee of peace and security in the region. 

In that atmosphere, she thanked for support and assistance made to-date to reform efforts of Bosnia and Herzegovina along its European integrations path, fight against corruption, rule of law, and mediation in negotiations on the Election Law reform.

She said she expects continuation of an active US role and support in reforms implementation, key for functionality and stability of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Ambassador Murphy stressed USA remains strongly committed to preserving stability, sovereignty and territorial integrity of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The meeting discussed current political developments in the country, region and in Europe, as well as joint activities for acceleration of necessary reforms, especially concerning the Election law, within the European integrations process. (end)
