Krišto Sents Letter and Piece of Information to Varhelyi Concerning Expected European Council Decision on Beginning of Negotiations with BIH

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Kristo sent a letter to Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement of EU Olivery Varhelyi, along with a piece of information containing review of key reforms implemented over the past year, as well as those dealt with intensively and which are in a final phase of implementation. The letter with the piece of information was sent before the up-coming decision by the European Council on beginning of negotiations with Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

“In a firm confidence of ours, based on results achieved and reached level of harmonisation with the European criteria, I am sending attached a piece of information accompanied by a review of key reforms completed over the past year, as well as those we work on intensively and which are in the final phase of implementation. Activities we have made are the result of our comprehensive and diligent effort and cooperation by responsible all-level institutions. The aims we have achieved, although being only a part of wider spectrum of activities implemented, are of vital importance for our next breakthrough towards membership in the European Union. We boost foundations of our future integration to the European family by every step of forward. We remain strongly committed to fulfilment of key priorities and reform processes implementation”, Chairwoman Krišto noted in her letter to Commissioner Varhelyi.

The Chairwoman informed the Commissioner that several documents key to fulfilment of reform obligations of our country, including the Law on Court of BIH, are on agenda of the next session of the Council of Ministers of BIH.

She said that these processes require devotion, cooperation, and decisiveness on daily basis by all political stakeholders, and that so clearly visible, in order to secure that Bosnia and Herzegovina realises its full potential and become stable, prosperous and functional state, a full-fledged member of the European Union. In such atmosphere she reiterated that all in Bosnia and Herzegovina expect a positive decision by the European Council on opening of negotiations with our country this month. (end)
