Krišto – Plenković Meeting

Chairwoman Krišto stated after the meeting that the role of Croatia is immeasurable for BH on its European road, and that she is confident that Croatia would continue to extend any kind of assistance on the road to the EU membership.
She briefed the Prime Minister of Croatia on activities of the Council of Ministers on the European road. She also emphasised necessity of reforms of the Election Law and implementation of decision on legitimate representation of people, as well as implementation of the European Court for Human Rights decision.
She said that they touched upon some outstanding issues between the two countries to be solved through dialogue and respect.
Prime Minister Plenkovič stated that a meeting of Croatia – Slovenia Inter-governmental Committee of Croatia agreed that the radioactive waste from the “Krško” Nuclear Power Plant continues to be stored at the existignmng site within the Kšrko Nuclear Plan until 2028.
“This is a kind of relaxation concerning the issue for public in Bosnia and Herzegovina and Croatia. We will continue talks with Slovenia and, of course with BIH, in line with good neighbourly relations and all rules relevant to this important topic“, Prime Minister Plenković said.
Speaking of the European integrations, Plenković said that it is evident that BIH functions better than in the past.
He said that the EU enlargement process is currently in a key and unique phase because of situation in Ukraine, but he wants to encourage the both the Council of Ministers and Parliamentarian Assembly to do their utmost to take legislation which were defiend as aims.
He said that in the first six months of year, the trade exchange between BH and Croatia reached EUR two billion, which speaks enough of the level of economic cooperation.
The meeting discussed improvement of BIH – Croatia cooperation on the issue of suppression of illegal immigrations.
