European Integration Collegium Holds Its 5th Session
07/13/2023
The session endorsed unanimously a document „Position of Bosnia and Herzegovina for the 5th Meeting of the Stabilisation and Accession Council between the European Union and Bosnia and Herzegovina“, announced for July 19, 2023 in Brussels.
This is the first meeting of the Stabilisation and Accession Council since Bosnia and Herzegovina got its candidate status, and progress of Bosnia and Herzegovina is expected as to fulfilment of 14 priorities from the European Commission Opinion.
The session underlined that membership in the European Union is a strategic option for BIH for which there is a full consensus of all-level authorities, working together, in accordance with their constitutional competences, on fulfilment of the 14 priorities.
The European Integration Collegium assessed as a priority development of Bosnia and Herzegovina Integration to European Union Programme, which is one among key priorities from the EC Opinion on BIH application for membership in the EU. Earlier adopted was a report on activities realised within the Programme drafting, together with conclusions aimed at fulfilment of all obligations as to development of this important Programme.
For the aim of accelerated accession to the European Union, the European Integrations Collegium assigned European integrations-related work groups to provide an Action Plan of harmonisation of BIH regulations with those of the European Union, together with an Action Plan for realisation of the European Commission recommendations, referring to measures for the regulations harmonisation, by end October 2023.
