Chairwoman with Prime Minister Plenković in Sarajevo

Chairwoman Krišto briefed Prime Minister Plenković on current developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and future expectations, especially in context of the EU road, emphasising that BIH is currently ahead of elections. She said she hopes that BIH will make a certain breakthrough by the end of this year in relation of what is expected from it on the European road.
“I briefed the Prime Minister of Croatia on development of the Growth Plan Reform Agenda, on which we have worked intensively over the past eight months“, Chairwoman Krišto said at a press conference, noting her regret for no agreement has been reached yet on the document.
She pointed at bligations on the European road, known to all in BIH, assessing that several legislations have been already fairly agreed.
“These are Laws of High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council, Border Control, Personal Data Protection, and the Election Law, which burdens heavily relations and situation in BIH, thereby it makes the European road more difficult”, Krišto assessed.
She concluded that all these assignments should be done in accordance with the Constitutional system in BIH, with respect of three constitutive people and protection of collective rights, including election of legitimate political representatives, which would imply implementation of certain court awards.
Krišto thanked to Plenković and Government of Croatia for all it has done for BIH, its people and citizens, especially on the European road.
President of the Croatian Government Plenković stated that Croatia’s priority is overall progress of BIH on the European road, underlining that the new Election Law is a prerequisite for high quality functioning of all institutions in BIIH.
“We will extend a strong support, from negotiating framework to final opening of certain chapters, clusters. As to the Election Law, we believe that it is key element for high quality functioning of all institutions in BIH. We consider all three constitutive people should be fully equal, which implies Croatian people”, Plenković said at the press conference.
When it comes to economic cooperation, Plenković said that judging by data for the first five months this year, it is possible to estimate that the foreign exchange will reach EUR 3.7-3.8 billion annually in 2024.
Plenković said he is satisfied with cooperation between the two countries in terms of traffic infrastructure, at pointed at necessity of further strengthening of cooperation in the area of illegal migrations. (end)
