Chairwoman with president of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenski in Tirana

Chairwoman Krišto said at the beginning of the meeting that Bosnia and Herzegovian strongly supports territorial integrity of Ukraine and stands firmly with Ukraine in its efforts to preserve sovereignty and security. She expressed her compassion with Ukraine people, emphasising that she understands their pain and suffering they go through. She stressed that, in accordance with our commitment to European civilisation values, Bosnia and Herzegovina fully follows the European Union foreign policy positions as to the war in Ukraine.
She underlined that, as Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina, she fees profound responsibility towards its homeland and the whole region, since our country has experienced the horrors of war. Bosnia and Herzegovina has rich history and culture, obliging all living in it to be active participants in promotion of peace, stability and prosperity.
“Therefore, I wish to highlight that Bosnia and Herzegovina is ready to participate in all initiatives promoting peaceful solution to conflict and confidence building among parties”, Chairwoman Krišto said.
In that atmosphere, she expressed her belief that commitment to cooperation with European partners would enable joint action in crisis-solving and building of prosperity for the whole region.
President Zelenski thanked to support shown thus far and said that Bosnia and Herzegovina will be invited to the up-coming Peace Summit in Switzerland.
At the end of the meeting, Chairwoman congratulated once again to President Zelenski and Ukraine people for opening of negotiations with the EU. She said that BIH expects opening of negotiations in March and shares vision of better and safer life of all in Europe and throughout the world.
