Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Brussels with European Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Várheyi on the European integrations and regional issues. 

Chairwoman Krišto emphasised that the European Bosnia and Herzegovina has no alternative, that the EU accession process remains the most important foreign policy priority of our country, for the reason of which the Council of Ministers is fully oriented to realisation of that aim. Rightly for this aim, 14 priorities for progressing on the European road are at the focus of work of the BIH Institutions.

Chairwoman Krišto noted especially the importance of amendments of the lection legislation for the aim of securing equality of constitutive people in BIH and removal of all discriminations, as detected through the European Court for Human Rights awards, including relaxation of political relations in the country and better focusing to European issues.

Commissioner Várhelyi said today’s meeting is an important political signal and support to BIH European road. He emphasised the importance of relevant progress on fulfilment of 14 key priorities, i.e. eight of them, so as to move as soon as possible to political dialogue at the highest level.

Chairwoman Krišto emphasised the importance of cooperation of countries of the region in implementation of European standards and practice in their mutual relations, since decisiveness and readiness to become a part of the European family are reflected rightly though this segment of actions. She added that Bosnia and Herzegovina is an active participant of numerous regional initiatives for the Western Balkans, and it remains committed to the Berlin process, as the most important integrations tool.

Chairwoman Krišto thanked to the EU for its continuous support to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region, especially in urging regional cooperation on infrastructure projects in transport and energy sectors, benefiting all citizens in the region. She stressed the Council of Ministers of BIH readiness to improve its cooperation with the European Commission and work on acceleration of implementation of a number of on-going projects. (end)
