Chairwoman of Council of Ministers Krišto Sends Congratulations Note to President of Croatian Government Plenković Regarding Entering Schengen Zone and EURO Area

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of Bosnia and Herzegovina Borjana Krišto sent, on her own, sincere congratulations to President of the Government of the Republic of Croatia Andrej Plenković on the occasion of entering of the Republic of Croatia to Schengen zone and EURO area. 

“Allow me, as to Chairwomen of the Council of Ministers of BIH, to extend to you and all citizens of the Republic of Croatia, sincere congratulations regarding a historic moment of entering Croatia to Schengen and EURO zone. As at today, the Republic of Croatia becomes a part of the Schengen area, undoubtedly once again proving, after a decade, its firm commitment to the European Union. This historic turn will certainly in time to come bring a further strong promotion of basic freedoms, it will strengthen security, along with connectedness and cohesion of the Union. The Republic of Croatia acceded, today, January 1, 2023, to the Euro area, thereby EURO has become its official currency, featured by stability and resilience.

Appreciating your personal success, as well as that of the Government of the Republic of Croatia, we reached this great day with joy and pride. I strongly believe that this encompasses both legitimate and historical aspirations of the Croatian state and Croatian people in country and throughout the world for integration into the European cultural, social, political and economic space.

You have got honour to be a leader in this historical time, as well as key actor to fulfil the integrations aspirations to the end. The achievements you have made at the lead of the Government of the Republic of Croatia are even more appreciative. This renewed strength of the European presence is felt even more by us in Bosnia and Herzegovina. We all, together with our constitutive peoples and other citizens also belong to the circle of the European family, and have identical aspirations and wish towards equal European integrations.
