Chairwoman Krišto with President of Digital Nomads Association of Croatia

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with President of the Digital Nomads Association of the Republic of Croatia Jan de Jong on potentials of digital nomadism. 

De Jong briefed Chairwoman Krišto of the concept of digital nomadism and potentials it may bring about in Bosnia and Herzegovina’s economy through spending, extension of touristic season, transfer of knowledge and skills, global connectedness and potential investments. De Jong briefed Krišto of his experiences in the Republic of Croatia and success the concept has made in the neighbouring country thanks to a constructive cooperation with the Government of the Republic of Croatia.

Chairwoman Krišto assessed the concept as interesting in terms of global mobile economy, which may enrich significantly the domestic labour market and bring new knowledges and technologies to Bosnia and Herzegovina. She expressed her interest for implementation of the digital nomadism concept in our country, stressing that the process of imposing visas for digital nomads have to respect constitutional and political peculiarities of Bosnia and Herzegovina, in order to have success and benefits for both guests and local communities.

The chairwoman informed her interlocutor that the Ministry of Security of BIH deals with amendments and supplements to the Law on Foreigners in BIH, for the aim fo of regulating the stay and status of digital nomads in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (end)
