Chairwoman Krišto with Foreign Minister of Belgium Lahbib

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Belgium Hadja Lahbib on European integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

The meeting concluded that bilateral relations are good and without outstanding issues, which represents a good background for further strengthening of cooperation in all areas, especially economic one.

Chairwoman Krušto briefed Minister Lahbib of the current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina, with a special emphasis to a process of authorities formation at all levels. She underlined a hard commitment of Bosnia and Herzegovina to the European road and acceleration of both reform and integration processes. She also noted key preconditions for internal stability, namely the continuation of work on a limited constitutional reform and comprehensive amendment of the Election Law of BIH, in accordance with the Constitutional Court of BIH awards on legitimate representation of constitutive people in the BIH Presidency and Parliament Chambers, as institutions with a purpose of protection collective rights of constitutive people  in BIH, in addition to regard of the European Court for Human Rights awards, all in order to remove discrimination towards individuals.

Chairwoman Krišto expressed her thankfulness for Belgian continuous support to European prospect of Bosnia and Herzegovina, especially to readiness to transfer its experiences and knowledge related to the European integrations, including for the European coordination mechanisms and transposition of the EU acquis. She said the visit by Minister Lahbib is very important for strengthening of political relations, and that reopening of the Embassy of the Belgium in BIH will contribute to promotion of relations and intensification of cooperation in the context of both the European integrations and economic cooperation.(end)
