Chairwoman Krišto with EU Special Representative Soreco: Non-Election 2025 as a Chance for Key Breakthroughs on European Road

A meeting between Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto and Special Representative and Ambassador of the Eu Luigi Soreco was held today. The beginning of the calendar year is na extraordinary chance for a kind of cross-section of developments of the previous year , which despite all challenges, market reforms and European breakthroughs. 

At the beginning of the meeting, Chairwooman briefed Special representative Soreco of an pplilication submitted to the EU Solidarity Fund, so that Bosnia and Hrezgpvina may though this EU mechanism get finances for additional rehabilitation from natural disaster caused by floods that heit our country last October.

Today’s meeting discussed the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina and continuation of reform activities, as two key topics. The adoption of the Law on border control and Law on personal data protection was a breakthrough to give additional strength, along with fulfilment of remaining reforms expected from domestic authorities by EU institutions, the meeting emphasised.

With the remaining reform laws and necessary conditions, the non-election year is a chance for domestic authorities to make breakthroughs, including the reform of the Election Law of BIH. Chairwoman Krišto reiterated the importance of Inter-Government conference, by which BIH would start negotiations and open negotiation chapters. It was concluded that by joined forces and continuous communication, Bosnia and Herzegovina will continue to make breakthroughs towards a full membership in the EU. (end)
