Chairwoman Krišto with Director-General Koopman in Tirana

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked at the margins of the Ukraine-South East Europe Summit in Tirana, with Director-General of the European Commission Directorate-General for Neighbourhood Policy and Enlargement Gert Jan Koopman on European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Chairwoman Krišto briefed Director-General Koopman on progress by Bosnia and Herzegovina in fulfilment of criteria for opening of negotiations with the EU, especially in connection with two topical issues, the Western Balkans Growth Plan and Economic Reforms Plan.

The Chairwoman said that a Work Team, in cooperation with the EU Delegation in BIH, arranged thematic meetings by sectors, at which it held additional consultations with the European Commission, particularly in the areas of the rule of law and business environment. She said she was satisfied with the quality of discussions and communications between BIH institutions and EC representatives on the on-going process concerning BIH.

She informed that the Council of Ministers adopted 2024-2026 Economic Reforms Programme at today’s phone session, focused on fulfilment of Bosnia and Herzegovina’s obligations on the European road. It is about structural reforms package to provide an answer to global trends, accelerate convergence of BIH with EU countries and solve the remaining of inherited structural challenges.
