Chairwoman Krišto thanked to President Michel and the European Council for a continuous support to Bosnia and Herzegovina, She added that it is an additional incitement for acceleration of reform processes on the road to the EU membership.
She stressed that fulfilment of the European Commission Opinion requirements remain at the focus of work of the Council of Ministers of BIH in future period of time, and that many steps in that direction have already been made. She emphasised the importance of soon opening of the negotiation process of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the European Union, by the end of 2023, at latest
Also, she noted that stability and strengthening of democracy and rule of law in BIH necessitates amendment to the BIH Constitution and wheel Election Law in a way to guarantee a real constitutional equality of all three constitutive people and remove discrimination of one people over the other citizens of BIH. Therefore it is necessary to implement Decisions of the Constitutional Court of BIH on legitimate representation of constitutive people at all administrative-political levels, including implementation of all awards of the European Court for Human Rigjsts.
The meeting discussed steps taken on legislation reforms. The Chairwoman stressed that the Council of Ministers of BIH adopted and sent to the Parliamentarian Assembly for consideration a Law on Freedom of Access to Information at Level of BIH Institutions, Law on Amendments and Supplements to Law on Ombudsman for Human Rights of BIH, Proposal Law on Organisation of Vine Market in Bosnia and Herzegovina, in a new text, Proposal Law n Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Foreigners, Proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on High Court and Prosecutorial Council of BIH. She stressed that a Proposal Law on Courts in BIH, the adoption of which was agreed at a political level, is currently in the process of refining. She is hopeful that mentioned laws would be adopted at the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH, by which our country would make a significant breakthrough towards the EU.(end)
