Chairwoman Krišto with Ambssador of Austria in BIH Ulrike Hartmann

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto met in Sarajevo with Ambassador of Austria in BIH Ulrike Hartmann. During the meeting they concluded that relations between the two countries are traditionally good at all levels and without outstanding issues, and that cooperation takes an upward trend in all areas. A continued development is evident in all areas of mutual cooperation, from policy, economy, culture, defence policy, education to migrations and security. 

Chairwoman Krišto thanked to Ambassador Hartmann for overall assistance and support by the Republic of Austria towards Bosnia and Herzegovina, both bilaterally and multilaterally. She tanked especially for support as to the European way of our country, since Austria is one of key proponents of BIH accession to the European Union. Austria showed its strong support to awarding candidate status for membership in the EU. She said that Bosnia and Herzegovina is particularly encouraged by position of Austria officials supporting accelerated accession of the Western Balkan countries, including Bosnia and Herzegovina, to the EU.

Ambassador Hartmann said Austria, as a close friend to BIH, has always advocated for a fast progressing in the European Union accession process, which will continue the same way.

Chairwoman Krišto said BIH is ready to strengthen further regional cooperation within the Berlin Process, including continuation of activities promoting political dialogue, regional cooperation and good neighbourly relations.

She stressed that Bosnia and Herzegovina remains committed to strengthening of cooperation in various areas which are very important for stability, economic growth and creation of conditions for improved living standard in the whole region. (end)
