Chairwoman Krišto Talks with UN Resident Coordinator on BIH MacDonald

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with UN Resident Coordinator in BIH Ingrid MacDonald on continuation and improvement of cooperation. 

Chairwoman Krišto briefed the UN Resident Coordinator on activity priorities of the Council of Ministers of BIH, and expressed her thankfulness to United Nations and its Agencies active in Bosnia and Herzegovina for continuous support to our country. She emphasised that the Council of Ministers of BIH remains open tor cooperation with UN agencies though the UN Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework and is permanently devoted to realisation of sustainable development goals. Chairwoman Krišto stressed that she sees in United Nations a genuine partner to assist us to make our society better and life easier to our people, especially to its the most vulnerable categories.

They discussed four strategic focus areas corresponding to needs of Bosnia and Herzegovina citizens, which use UN comparative advantages. In that regard, they exchanged views on intensification of cooperation between BIH institutions and UN on strengthening of rule of law, sustainable and balanced development and employment, social inclusion through education, social protection of children, health care, and empowering of women in BIH society.

Resident Coordinator Mac Donald congratulated to Chairwoman Krišto to her appointment ,and wished her success in her future work. (end)
