Chairwoman Krišto Talks with Foreign Minister of Spain Bueno

Chairwoman Krišto said bilateral relations are good and friendly, and noted that there is space for improvement of cooperation, especially economic one. She expressed her confidence that the economic cooperation will be improved in the coming period of time, and she thanked to Spain for its continuous strong support to integration processes of our country.
Chairwoman Krišto emphasised the importance of the visit by Foreign Minister Bueno to Bosnia and Herzegovina just before the beginning of Chairmanship of Span over the European Union Council, from July 2, 2023, which is a strong encouragement for continuation of reform processes and progressing towards the EU. She noted unanimous commitment of BIH to the European road, stressing that the Council of Ministers of BIH works on fulfilment of 14 key priorities from the European Commission Opinion, covering respect to all democratic values and harmonisation with the EU acquis.
Minister Bueno congratulated to Chairwomen Krišto for her appointment, wishing her success in work, and noted unquestionable support by Spain to the integration processes of our country, especially strengthening of the Coordination Mechanism. He added that as to the bilateral cooperation, there is a need to support cultural, political and economic ties. He emphasised that during the Spanish chairing of the European Union, Bosnia and Herzegovina and the whole Western Balkans will be at the focus of Spanish European policy in the context of enlargement process.
The meeting exchanged views on global security challenges, such as war in Ukraine and illegal migrations are. Chairwoman Krišto noted the importance of harmonisation of policies in BIH with the joint European external and security policies.(end)
