Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Kšišto expressed her pleasure for adoption of five reform laws at the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH, namely: Proposal Law on Freedom of Access to Information at BIH level, Proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Ombudsman for Human Rights of BIH, Proposal Law on High Court and Prosecutorial Council of BIH, Proposal Law on Vine Market, and Proposal Law on Amendments and Supplements to the Law on Foreigners.

“The laws adopted, previously passed and sent to the Parliamentarian Assembly by the Council of Ministers of BIH, are extremely important for further European road of our country. This is a clear indicator that our country works constantly on fulfilment of requirements for the EU accession, and it speaks of our dedication to the aims and European values, which the European Union stands on.

The Proposal Law on Courts in BIH, the adoption of which was agreed-to at political level, is currently in the drafting process and is expected to be adopted by the Council of Ministers and subsequently passed to the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH. All these reform laws lead our country a step forward to the European Union and are a proof of our dedicated and accelerated work on fulfilment of requirements for accession to the European family.

I wish to highlight the importance of as soon as possible opening of the negotiation process of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the European Union, by the end of 2023, at latest, and today’s adoption of  the laws adds to a notion that our expectations are realistic.

It is necessary to start a limited amendment of the Constitution of BIH and a thorough amendment of the Election Law of BIH, in a way to secure real constitutional equality of all constitutive people, in addition to removing discrimination against all other citizens of BIH, all for the aim of stability and improved democracy and rule of law. Therefore, the Constitutional Court of BIH decision on legitimate representation of constitutive people at all administrative-political levels is necessary to be implemented, in addition to all awards by the European Court for Human Rights, by which we would close the whole process leading u closer to the European Union”, Chairwoman Krišto stated.(end)
