Chairwoman Krišto Meets with Prime Minister Golob on the Eve of the Bled Strategic Forum

The Chairwoman thanked to Prime Minister Golob for a strong support to awarding the candidate status to our country, stressing that Slovenia has always been friendly to Bosnia and Herzegovina and one of the most important economic partners.
She said that among EU countries, Slovenia is the only state with which BIH has traditionally good cooperation in all segments and that the Council of Ministers of BIH will certainly take effort to rise it to as high level as possible.
Prime Minister Golob said Slovenia will continue supporting BIH and assisting it on its European road.
The meeting discussed situation in Slovenia recent after stormy weather and related reconstruction process. Prime Minister Golob thanked for support BIH extended to Slovenia. Chairwoman Krišto said a support to all countries in times of crises, especially to friends such as Slovenia is, is something that is presumed and not to be taken into question.
Chairwoman informed the Prime Minister of Slovenia of the current political developments in our country and moves the Council of Ministers of BIH has made on its European road. She added that a very important element in the chain of stabilisation of internal affairs in Bosnia and Herzegovina is amendment of the Election Law, the activities on which have already started.
She said that the Council of Ministers of BIH adopted five pieces of legislation and sent them to the BIH Parliamentarian Assembly for consideration, namely, Law on freedom of access to information at level of BIH Institutions, Law on amendments and supplements to the Law on Ombudsman for human rights in BIH, Proposal Law on organisation of vine market in BIH in new text, Proposal Law on amendments and supplements to the Law on foreigners, with an ‘EI’ mark, and Proposal Law on amendments and supplements to the Law on High Court and Prosecutorial Council of BIH. She stressed that the Law on Courts in BIH was agreed-to at the political level, in is in the process of drafting and is expected to be adopted at the Council of Ministers and sent to the Parliamentarian Assembly soon. All these reform laws take our country a step forward towards the European Union, and are the proof of our devoted and accelerated effort to fulfil requirements needed for accession to the European Union.(end)
