Chairwoman Krišto Leads BIH Delegation at SA Council Meeting

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto led a delegation of BIH at the 5th meeting of the Stabilisation and Accession Council, held in Brussels. 

Other than Chairwoman Krišto, the delegation included Deputy Chairman and Minister of Defence of BIH Zukan Helez, Minister of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations fo BIH Staša Košarac, Director of the directorate for European Integrations Edin Dilberović, and representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and BIH Mission with the European Union. The meeting was chaired over by High Representative of European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy and Vice-President of the European Commission Josep Borrell, while Commissioner for Neighbourhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhelyi represented the European Commission.

The meeting discussed relations between BIH and EU within the Stabilisation and Accession process, precisely the accession process to the block in light of last year’s European Commission reports, with focus at political and economic criteria, European Commission Opinion and assistance to BIH ahead of the accession.

Chairwoman Krišto stated after the 5^th meeting of the Stabilisation and Accession Council that she is convinced that the current dynamics of work of the Council of Ministers of BIH should enable opening of negotiations for membership in the EU by the end of this year. (end)
