Chairwoman Krišto in Davos with Deputy President of Government and Minister for Social Affairs and Employment of Netherlands and with Special Envoy Lajčak

Chairwoman Krišto expressed her thankfulness to the Government of the Kingdom of Netherlands for support in awarding the candidate status to our country over last year. She noted that it was a necessary wind In the sails to pro-European forces in Bosnia and Herzegovina and signal to our citizens that our place is in European Union.
Chairwoman Krišto briefed Minister van Gennip of the current political developments in Bosnia and Herzegovina and a progress achieved on the European road. She expressed firm commitment of the Council of Ministers of BIH for continued reform process and fulfilment of 14 priorities from the European Commission Opinion. She said that the main foreign policy aim of Bosnia and Herzegovina is membership in the European Union, which aim has no alternative in the light of securing long term peace, stability and better future for all its citizens. She emphasised that a concrete support by all EU member-countries, as a clear and undoubted signal of welcome, is necessary for success of reform processes.
Chairwoman Krišto talked at separate bilateral meeting with Special EU Envoy for Belgrade-Priština Dialogue and Other Regional Issues of the Western Balkans Miroslav Lajčak.
The meeting discussed the continuous reform process that the Council of Ministers of BIH runs to accelerate the European road. The Chairwoman said she was fully convinced that the European Union would recognise efforts taken by the Council of Ministers of BIH and open negotiations process with Bosnia and Herzegovina, to strengthen the integration process. She added hat despite everything, the Council of Ministers will invest additional efforts to accelerate reforms and get date for opening of the EU negotiations. She stressed that the EU integrations remain the primary foreign policy aim of BIH, and that the integrations processes have no alternative.
The Chairwoman expressed her gratitude to the Special EU representative Lajčak for his continued support and contribution to the European perspective of the Western Balkan countries.
Aside from intensive bilateral meetings, during the day in Davos, Chairwoman Krišto took part at an informal gathering of global economic leaders under title “Restoring Faith in Global”. (end)
