Chairwoman Krišto Briefs BIH Parliamentarian Assembly and Collegium for European Integrations on EU Road: Dialogue and Joint Effort by Representatives of Responsible BIH Institutions Are Key for Progress

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto briefed leaders of the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH House of Representatives and House of People, including members of the Collegium for European Integrations on an incentive meeting Delegations of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the European Union held on April 24, 2024, assessing it as a key for the time of opening of dialogue and joint agreement. 

In her note, Chairwoman Krišto assessed the first meeting following opening of the accession negotiations resulted in review of next steps within the negotiations process, for both preparation of a review the EU acquis, and review of a negotiating structure, before the inter-government conference.

She stressed that through joint effort only and by decision taken by relevant bodies of BIH institutions, it is possible to continue moving towards the Eureoapn Union, and make a progress and thus promote prosperity and stability of BH.

Over the coming time, an evaluation by the European Commission of the BIH Integrations Programme is expected, which is relevant for preparation of the next phase of bilateral screening of harmonisation of legislation with the EU acquis.

“I consider it very important to demonstrate, right now, at the beginning of the undertaking, as well as throughout the process, our decisiveness and devotion for establishment of a constructive dialogue, taking care for all-level authorities to be included into every negotiations phase“, Krišto stressed, adding that the EU integrations process has to include, other than expertise, an active participation and urgent action by all political representatives of all-level isntitutions in BIH.

Chairwoman Krišto stressed that activities will continue within dialogue, with compromise and mutual consideration, for BIH to secure its road towards the EU and irs better future for all in Bosnia and Herzegovina. (end)
