Chairwoman Krišto at Meeting with Ambassadors of EU Countries in BIH

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with Head of the EU Delegation in BIH and EU Special Representative in BIH Johann Sattler and Ambassadors of the European Union member-countries in BIH on reform processes and European integrations of Bosnia and Herzegovina. 

Chairwoman Krišto expressed her thankfulness to the EU for the candidate status of BIH, emphasising that the focus of the Council of Ministers work will be fulfilment of 14 priorities. She added that the new composition of the Council of Ministers works intensively, so that several items relevant for European integrations process will be on the agenda of tomorrow’s third session of the Council of Ministers of BIH, including Strategy and Action Plan for Fight against Corruption, Strategy for Combating Organised Crime and Proposal Decision on Ratification of Civilian Protection Mechanism.

She reminded that the Council of Ministers of BIH has already adopted a series of documents as to public administration reform, internal market and competition, as well as concerning transport, energy and environment, required for holding of regular meetings of Sub-Committees between BIH and the European Union.

The discussed also the process of setting-up authorities at all levels in Bosnia and Herzegovina, election law reform and adoption of the Budget of BIH Institutions for the current year. A high degree of agreement was achieved on a need to finalise the processes as soon as possible, so that focus of all –level authorities in Bosnia and Herzegovina might be directed to reform processes relevant to the European integrations.

Chairwoman Krišto noted the importance of BIH – EU cooperation in implementation of structural projects, with a special focus to the projects to ensure improved security of the energy system in our country. (end)
