Chairwoman Krišto at International Conference “Mostar 2024: Dialogue for Future”

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto addressed to an International Conference “Mostar 2024: Dialogue for Future”, being held in Mostar in “Mepas” Hotel, on the occasion of the 20th anniversary of reconstruction of the Old Bridge in Mostar. 

Chairwoman Krišto expressed her pleasure for Mostar is nowadays a regional and European centre, dispatching joint messages of peace, consideration, tolerance and mutual understanding. She extended a recognition to friendly Governments of Croatia, Italy, Netherlands, Turkey and IFIs, which funded the reconstruction of the Old Bridge.

“Their effort, dedication and vision left a permanent trace in our city, and country alike. Their example inspires us to continue build bridges, both physical and spiritual among our communities and people”, Chairwoman Krišto said.

She thanked to Mayors of the City of Mostar, who gave their contribution to the reconstruction, especially though to late mayor Ljubo Bešlić, during whose term, the Old Bridge was reconstructed.

“The reconstruction of the Bridge was an important move towards recovery of confidence, setting of new and lasting foundations for all of us in BIH, and for future generations, as well. The ‘Dialogue for Future’, as the title of today’s conference says , requires a motif to work together on dealing with challenges ahead of us”, chairwoman Krišto said.

At the end of her address, Chairwoman Krišto underlined that European Bosnia and Herzegovina – country of three constitutive people and all its citizens - only can be developed by joint effort, thanking to all participants of the Conference for sharing their ideas and visions for European future of BIH. (end)
