Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto addressed in Sarajevo on the occasion of the 23rd Anniversary and Day of the Border Police of Bosnia and Herzegovina, wishing happy anniversary and success in further operations to Director Mirko Kuprešić and all Border Police staff. 

In her address, Chairwoman Krišto said the Border Police of BIH, with all challenges Iit is faced to, has grown into a respectable police agency. She stressed that with regular activities of border surveillance, the Border Police is the first barrier when in question prevention of illegal entries and fight against human trafficking, which was especially notable over the recent years when Bosnia and Herzegovina happened to be on the route of big migration streams.

“This fact speaks rightly of extremely demanding and responsible police assignment, requiring a high level of knowledgeability, managing different situations, often even when it comes about live saving decision-making. Therefore, in order to respond to needs of the service, it is undoubtedly obligatory to work on further improvement of work conditions and operations of the BIH Border Police”, Krišto said.

Chairwoman Krišto emphasised that a continuous and open cooperation by the Council of Ministers of BIH, responsible Ministry and BIH Border Police my add significantly to improvement the police agency effectiveness and operative capacities, so that it would became more successful in meeting all challenges and be more reliable partner to police in the region, as well as to the European Union.
