Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto addressed to the 1st Mostar Security Forum, gathering numerous political officials, representatives of diplomatic core and academic and economic communities from BIH and the region.

In her address, Kršto stated that this regional event has an extraordinary importance for development and promotion of peace, for stability and security in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region, and beyond.

She assessed that the thematic focus of the Forum, directed to transatlantic security, the SEE region and resilience to hybrid threats responds to complexity of challenges, dealing with which requires a systematic and multidisciplinary approach.

“In time of increasing globalisation and connectedness, our, SEE region, faces with numerous challenges, from a complex geopolitical situation to economic and social transformation”, Chairwoman Krišto said, adding that increasing threats of terrorism, extremism, major migration trends and energy insecurity, including more frequent wars, make the global security situation more complex.

She stressed that for overcoming of these challenges it needs to take a systemic and multidisciplinary approach, expressing her expectation for today’s discussion to result in guidelines for solving current security situation and its challenges.

Kršto said that conclusions to stem for these discussions, will serve as a solid foundation for a scientific development of security polices and strategies at international level, given more complex security issues requiring a systematic solution-finding, both in each country individually and together at the international plan, stressing that only joint efforts and mutual confidence may serve as a foundation for development fo secure and stable society. (end)
