Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto talked in Sarajevo with Marko Merkovec, Deputy Director-General of the European External Action Service (EES) and Director for Western Europe, Western Balkans, Turkey and Great Britain on European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The meeting was attended by Head of the EU Delegation in BIH Johan Sattler. 

Chairwoman Krišto thanked to the EEAS for a comprehensive assistance to BIH Institutions in the integrations process, as well as for support and in well understanding situation in Bosnia and Herzegovina, She said the candidate status encouraged all political actors in BIH to work jointly for the favour of approximation to Europe and transformation of our society. She underlined that the BIH Institutions priorities and focus of work of will be directed to fulfilment of the EC Opinion 14 key priorities. She added that compromise and consensus are key to further progress along the integration process, as well as for securing a long-term stability of BIH through processes of limited amendment of the BIH Constitution and substantial reform of the Election Law.

She stressed that the Council of Ministers of BIH works seriously and dynamically on acceleration of the reform processes and that, other than the 2023 Budged, also 2023-2025 Bosnia and Herzegovina Reform Programme was adopted, including Financial Agreement for Annual Action Plan, supplemented to the 2023 Western Balkans Energy Support Package, and as to the key priorities there is the Law on Amendments and Supplants to the Law on High Judicial and Prosecutorial Council and Strategy for Combating Organised Crime 2023-2026.

Chairwoman Krišto emphasised commitment of the Council of Ministers of BIH for cooperation with the EU and regional and European initiatives, based on good neighbourly relations, strengthening of dialogue, peace and stability. She noted certainty of harmonisation of Bosnia and Herzegovina foreign policy with joint foreign and security policy of the EU. (end)
