Chairman Tzegeltiojija with UNDP Resident Coodinator in MacDonald

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran tegletija talked today via video-link with United Nations Resident Coordinator in BIH Ingrid McDonald on the current epidemiological and socio-economic developments in BIH and the region, caused by Covid-19 pandemics. 

Chairman Tegletija briefed UN Coordinator Mac Donald of the activities the Council of Ministers takes to contain pandemics, and expressed gratitude to UN for support in mitigating consequences of the pandemics, pointing out the importance, in that context, of UN Development Programme. Also, Chairman noted his disappointment with the global vaccine procurement system, underlining that vaccines should be a global good, not an instrument for showing off power and domination of certain counties and policies.

Also, Chairman Tegeltija noted a need to enable access of Bosnia and Herzegovina to finances from international sources, in order to facilitate and step- up socio-economic in the post-Covid-19 area.

They pointed at a necessity to continue implementation of socio-economic measures in order to start-up economic activities, revive economy and recover jobs, as well as at needed for a continued support to all-level authorities in BIH, so as to secure even recovery and development.

The cooperation to-date was assessed as successful, and mutual readiness was confirmed for continuation of cooperation on future projects of the Council of Ministers and UN agencies active in BIH.

The meeting was attended by UNDP Resident Representative in BIH Steliana Nedera, Head of UNDP Office in BIH dr. Rownak Khan, and Head of WHO in BIH dr. Fabio Scano.
