Chairman Tegeltija with President of Austrian Parliament National Council

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked in Sarajevo with President of the Austrian Parliament National Council Wolfgang Sobotka on the current political situation in BIH and the region. 

Chairman Tegletija assessed the cooperation of the two countries features an upward curve in all areas. He pointed at very good political relations without outstanding issues followed by very good economic ties, as Austria is one of the most important investors to BIH and significant foreign trade partner with which BIH marks a surplus. As a prospective area of cooperation of the two countries, he mentioned ICT, as a future growth driver and one of ways of stopping drain of BIH citizens, especially the youth.

They exchanged views on migrant crisis faced by BIH and the region Chairman Tegeltija stressed the migrant crisis surpasses capacities of BIH to tackle the problem solely, therefore a strong assistance of the European Union and international community is required to stop moving of migrants towards BIH.

The meeting welcomed the cooperation of the two countries in other areas, particularly in culture, wishing for it to continue and expand.

Chairman Tegeltija emphasised a need for political crisis in BIH to be solved through internal dialogue, without imposition of solutions from outside.

Chairman Tegeltija thanked to the Republic of Austria for continued support to the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina and implementation of structural reforms, as well as for support of Austria in provision and delivery of vaccines. (end)
