Chairman Tegeltija with OSCE Representatives

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked in Banja Luka with representative of the Organisation for European Security and Cooperation for media freedom Tereza Ribeiro on the importance of media freedoms, journalists’ protection, as efficacy of public broadcasting services. 

Chairman Tegletija noted the Council of Ministers of BIH commitment to better transparency and information availability, and in that context, he briefed the OSCE representative of activities the Council of Ministers takes for that cause, emphasising the importance of institutional support to principles and standards of the media freedom and freedom of expression.

Chairman Tegeltija stressed the importance of creating a climate to support journalists and prevent threats, therefore he underlined his gratitude to OSCE for support in strengthening of media freedom and in development of democratic relations within BIH.

They jointly assessed the media freedom represents one among pillars of democracy and  important precondition for overall development and prosperity of every society, pointing at media responsibility for words pronounced or written, with a special focus at prevention of speech of hatred promotion.
