Chairman Tegeltija with EUFOR Commander Trischak

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked in Sarajevo with EUFOR Commander General-Major Rainhard Trischak. On the occasion, Chairman Tegeltija briefed General-major Trischak of the current two major security challenges of BIH, one referring to illegal migrations and the other is the outbreak of coronavirus. 

Chairman Tegeltija stressed that illegal migration, in the light of latest developments in Turkey and Greece and possibility of major migrant inflow to the Western Balkans countries, becomes an increasing problem for BIH, particularly taking regard of the fact of a growing number of cases of violation of public order and peace in BIH on the part of migrants.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers pointed that the problem of illegal migrations coupled with the outbreak of coronavirus additionally complicates the situation, and informed the EUFOR Commander of the temporary ban of entry for foreign citizens arriving from the areas of intensive coronavirus transmission, imposed because of possibility for spreading of the infection.

The interlocutors also exchanged their views on other topical political and security issues, and emphasised jointly the importance of good cooperation between EUFOR and BIH security agencies, expressing his hope that the cooperation would be additionally improved.

EUFOR Commander General-Major Rainhard Trischak congratulated to Chairman Tegeltija taking the post of the chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH.

Chairman Tegeltija informed Trischak of the Council of Minsters’ activities, and underlined that the new Council of Ministers has opted for the European road of BIH, with a strict compliance to the principles and rules of coordination system of the European integrations process, which fully reflects the allocation of responsibilities among different authority levels in BIH.

The meeting assessed that the realisation of the reform processes in BIH and its European road depend on dialogue and coordination of all-level authorities in BIH.
