Chairman Tegeltija with Entity Prime Ministers

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija discussed today in Sarajevo with President of the Government of Republika Sprka Radovan Višković and Prime Minister of the Federation of BIH Fadil Novalić the current health-epidemiological and economic situation in BIH in the context of assuming inevitable socio-economic measures as a response to crisis caused by hte corona virus pandemics. 

Chairman Tegeltija stressed that having regard of the seriousness and volume of pandemics consequences , as well as uncertainty of weather and all other parameters concerning the pandemics, it is of a great importance for all levels of authority in BIH define, within their respective competences, a package of measures for mitigation of the pandemics effects, and secure, through the recently set-up Group for Corona Virus Pandemics Socio-Economic Response, effective socio-economic measures coordination defining.

The meeting agreed several urgent measures that will be considered by the Council of Minister early next week, upon an initiative of Republika Srpska and the Federation of BIH, and those relate to adoption of a new Decision on preferential treatment of domestic products in 30% share, as an urgent assistance to BIH economy, which will have effect for at least one year. Also, it was agreed for the Council of Ministers to consider an amendment of Decision on special conditions for foreigners’ entry to BIH, allowing an entry to BIH to foreigners who need to travel to BIH for the purpose of realisation of business activities with domestic companies (production activities, overhaul activities, export products acceptance and approval etc.), with adherence to special health-epidemiological procedures for such cases, prescribed by responsible institutions.

In the context of a joint and coordinated response to corona virus-caused socio-economic crisis, the meeting agreed to work intensively over the future period of time to define measures and address commonly international financial institutions in order to jointly secure concessive financial resources and start-up a sizable investment circle in BIH, and thus strengthen economic recovery.
