Chairman Tegeltija with Commissioner Varhelyi

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija, together with his Deputies, Minister of Foreign Affairs Bisera Turković and Minister of Finance and Treasury of BIH Vjekoslav Bevanda, talked in Sarajevo with European Commissioner for Enlargement and Neighbour Policy Oliver Varhelyi. 

Discussed was the European road of Bosnia and Herzegovina and progress achieved by defined key reform priorities. Chairman Tegeltija said he expects that the European Council will, by mi- December, confirm the candidate status of BIH. He added that such decision would relax relations within BIH and draw focus of all political stakeholders to the European path and needed reforms.

The Council of Ministers of BIH, it was stressed, remains dedicated to the European integrations and harmonisation of polices and standards with the European Union acquis.

The meeting exchanged views in BIH – EU dialogue within SAA, dealing with energy crisis and budget support in the time ahead.

The meeting was preceded by a tete-a-tete meeting of Chairman Tegletija and Commissioner Varhelyi, where views were exchanged on the current developments in BIH and in the world, in the light of the EU dialogue within the SAA.
