Chairman Tegeltija with Ambassador Satler

Chairman Tegletija briefed Ambassador Satler of conclusions by the European Integrations Collegiums concerning meeting the priorities from the European Commission Opinion, and emphasised the commitment of the Council of Ministers to make a substantial breakthrough on its way to the EU, despite blockages by certain political forces. He said that the proper application of the coordination mechanism, enabling cooperation of different authority levels along with respect of constitutional competences, is of a key importance for moving of BIH towards the European Union.
Chairman Telgeltija pointed at a necessity for further strengthening of confidence between BIH and the EU, emphasising that BIH needs a concrete signal of the political will and agreement of all members in place when in question the enlargement.
Ambassador Satler mentioned a necessity of action though the coordination mechanism, as well as the importance and role of the European Integrations Collegiums, and pointed at the importance of compliance to the deadlines for drafting a methodology for designing the EU Integrations Programme of BIH and relevant Action Plan for realisation of all key priorities from the European Commission Opinion on BIH request for membership in the EU.
The interlocutors exchanged their views on the current health and epidemiologic situation in BIH and the region, caused by the Covid-19 pandemics, EU support to BIH, including the EUR 240 million EU micro-financial assistance and EUR 80,5 million grant for mitigation of consequences caused by the Covid-19 pandemics.
Ambassador Satler expressed a full and continued support in realising the BIH progress on the road to the European Union, as well as to cooperation in regard to the Covid-19 Pandemics Socio-Economic Response Work Group.
They jointly assessed that reform process and implementation of earlier defined socio-economic measures should restart as soon as possible for the purpose of launching economic activities, revitalisation of economy and jobs recover, and pointed at a need for a high level solidarity of all on order to coup with the issues caused by the new corona virus pandemics.
