Chairman Tegeltija Talks with UN Coordinator McDonald

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked today in Sarajevo with a delegation of United Nations in BIH, led by UN Resident Coordinator Ingrid McDonald. 

The meeting discussed the current topics in BIH and the region, with an emphasis at a possibility of implementation of contra-Corona Virus outbreak activities, within the socio-economic response and recovery from Covid-19 pandemics in BIH.

On this occasion representatives of the UN delegation in BIH presented a proposal socio-economic response and recovery from Covid-19 in BIH, based on a Sustainable Development Programme until 2030 (Agenda 2030).

Chairman Tegletija welcomed the activities UN realises in BIH though its agencies, and emphasised the importance of even provision of development and recovery support to all-level authorities in BIH, in order to ensure the even development and recovery, and stressed a need tor as soon as possible launch of new investment cycle aiming a quick response to Corona Virus-caused pandemics, which affected BIH and countries of the region and world.

Chairman Tegeltija said it would be very important for BIH to be among priority funded countries from the Mutual Partner Anti-Covid-19 Pandemics Assistance Fund, established by the Secretary General of UN.

The meeting jointly pointed at the relevance of inclusion of all responsible institutions in BIH to work stronger with UN agencies in implementation of measures directed to protection and strengthening of health systems, maintaining jobs and strengthening of economy, in addition to promotion of social cohesion and investment to resilience and society response systems.

On this occasion, Chairman Tegeltija expressed his gratitude to UN representatives for all activities previously taken in BIH, underlining that that UNDP over the past period of time showed capacity for successful project implementation and capacity building at all levels of authority, also honouring constitutional competences.
