Chairman Tegeltija Talks with Štefanek

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked today with Special Representative of the Council of Europe Secretary General for Migrations and Refugees Drahoslav Šefanek on the current developments in BIH in the context of efforts to overcome migrant crisis-linked problems. 

Thanking for the audience, representative Štefanek briefed Chairman Tegeltija on previously held meetings, as well as on a visit to migrant campus, stressing that the situation on the grounds is much better than it was the presented in media reports.

Chairman Tegeltija said that BIH, as one of countries especially hit by the migrant crisis since the fourth quarter of 2017, unjustifiably bears huge burden of migrant crisis, pointing at a need for a greater solidarity on the part of the European Union in this matter.

Chairman Tegletija referred to the Council of Ministers commitment to continue, in agreement with the EU Delegation, providing maximal support in finding solutions to the issue of illegal migrations, which, given the increased number of incidents and criminal acts, also gains more security character.

The interlocutors agreed that a greater coordination and cooperation of all relevant institutions and security agencies in the region is required to contribute considerably to improved solving of the issue of illegal migrations.
