Chairman Tegeltija Talks with President of European Commission

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegletija talked today by phone with President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen on the current epidemiological developments caused by Covid-19 pandemics. 

On this occasion, Chairman Tegletija briefed the European o Commission President of activities the Council of Ministers takes, in cooperation with the Entity and Brčko District of BIH Governments, to contain the spreading of corona virus, adding that Bosnia and Herzegovina, after a long time of waiting, got the first contingent of vaccines under the COVAX Programme two days ago.

The President of the European Commission informed the Chairman of the Council of Ministers that a delivery of 650,000 Pfizer vaccines to the Western Balkan countries will start in the second half of April. The vaccines are a donation by the European Union and they will be free of charge. The distribution of the 650,000 vaccines will be agreed with each of the Western Balkan counties separately.

It was jointly assessed that the acceleration of vaccines production and their equal and fair global distribution, as well as better solidarity among all countries are the key to recovery and overcoming of corona virus-caused problems.

They exchanged positions on other topical issues in BIH and the European Union, and Chairman Tegeltija thanked  to the EC  President Von der Leyen for bringing news on vaccines donation, as well as on support and initiatives to include BIH, not only the EU member-countries.
