Chairman Tegeltija Talks with IMF Delegation

The meeting discussed planned activities and measures within a new arrangement with this international financial institution, as well as on reform areas to be covered by the new arrangement.
On this occasion, Chairman Tegeltija briefed the IMF representatives of the activities the BIH Institutions undertake in fight with the effects of Covid-19 pandemics, underlining that all-level of authorities’ resources are directed at support to health sector and health protection of citizens, and at support to the real sector.
Speaking of the new IMF arrangement, Chariman Tegeltija stressed a need to maintain financial sector stability, to continue in a committed and studious way efforts towards the health sector recovery and public enterprises reform. He underlined a need for a strong support to recovery of economy, with a special focus to economic area most severely hit by the crisis.
At the meeting, Chairman Tegeltija declared an expectation of all-level authorities in BIH to have, despite somewhat burdened operation of the Mission due to corona virus pandemics, a successful completion of negotiations by the end of this December and conclusion of the new arrangement in January 2021.
The Chairman of the Council of Ministers thanked to the IMF for support and expeditious acting in approving funds from the Rapid Finance Instrument at the onset of the pandemics, and for shown readiness for the continuation of technical and financial support to BIH.
