Chairman Tegeltija Talks with Ambassador Uebber

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija talked in Sarajevo with Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany in BIH Margret Uebber. 

The meeting discussed current political and economic topics in BIH and the region, with an emphasis at the European integrations.

Chairman Tegeltija stressed that the Council of Ministers, against all Corona virus pandemics consequences, is committed to a full compliance to constitutional authorisations of all levels of authorities in BIH, as well as to a credible application of the coordination mechanism, in continuing devotedly fulfilling conditions required for getting the candidate status of BIH.

They exchanged views on the challenges encountered by countries in the European integrations process, as well as on the FR Germany programme during its Presidency over the European Union.

Chairman Tegeltija pointed at the necessity of further strengthening of mutual confidence between the EU and BIH, pointing out that BIH needs a clear signal of the affirmative political will and all-member agreement when it comes to the EU enlargement and BIH status, adding that the conditions for getting the candidate status need to be of a more technical nature.

Ambassador Uebber briefed Chairman Tegeltija that the predominant theme of Presidency will be the rehabilitation from health, economic and social consequences of the Covid-19 pandemics under the heading „Together for Recovery of Europe“.

They stressed jointly a need for a clear definition of priorities and joining of all forces available so as to overcome in a long-term fashion the consequences of the Corona virus pandemics and  step-up both economic and social recovery.

Chairman Tegeltija thanked for good cooperation to date with Germany and pointed at a great role of that country in BIH, region and the world.
