Chairman Tegeltija Takes part at video WB Leaders Summit

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija took part at a video summit, organised by the Washington-based Atlantic Council, which discussed a concrete measure-taking towards economic integration of the region, targeting the overcoming of the corona virus pandemics-caused crisis. 

Chairman Tegeltija pointed, at this occasion, at the importance of promotion of regional cooperation, as a precondition for more effective market connection, underlining that the West3ern Balkans region, in the face of all challenges it meets, has a very significant development potential.

During the talks, Chairman Tegeltija stressed the commitment of the Council of Ministers to the European way of BIH, with a full compliance to the Dayton Agreement and constitutional competences of all-level authorities, and pointed at a need for a more intensified cooperation of the Western Balkan counties with the European Union as the major foreign trade partner.

The Chairman of the Council of Ministers welcomed the intention of the European Union to intensify its arrangements at all levels, in order to support both economic and social progress of the Western Balkan countries, and stressed a need for as urgent launching of a sizable investment cycle as a fast response to corona virus pandemics-caused crisis.

Chairman Tegeltija emphasised that the regional economic integration is a mighty driving force towards the European Union membership and accession to the single European economic area, underlining the creation of the regional economic zone as a key priority of the Western Balkan countries to allow development of economic capacities.

Other than the Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH, participants at the video summit on the Western Balkan Partnership included President of the Republic of Serbia Aleksandar Vučić, President of the North Macedonia Stevo Penderovski, Prime Minister of Kosovo* Avdulah Hoti, Prime Minister of Albania Edi Rama, and Minister of Economy of Montenegro Dragica Sekulić.
