Chairman Tegeltija in Meeting with IFIs Representatives

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija held a meeting today via video-link with representatives of international financial institutions in BIH. 

The meeting with IMF Resident Representative in BIH Andrew Juel, Head of the World Bank Office in BIH Emanuel Salinas, head of EBRD Office in BIH Manuela Nesl, Head of EIB Office in BIH Sandrin Fiska, and Representative of the International Financial Corporation Lada Buševac discussed the current economic situation in BIH, and on a possibility for cooperation of BIH Institutions and IFIs in socio-economic response to the crisis caused by corona virus pandemics.

Chairman Tegletija thanked to the IFIs Representatives for a fast reaction to BIH request for financial support and expressed his regret for impossibility for use of the funds allocated to BIH, stressing that the Council of Ministers has completed all its obligations to make available the funds withdrawn from the IMF.

The interlocutors discussed the so-called horseshoes response, and Chairman Tegeltija briefed the participants that the first session of the Socio-Economic Response Group will hold its first session next week, and its task is to design coordinated and agreed-to measures and reforms, aiming the country’s speeded recovery.

The meeting agreed about a necessity to take maximum efforts to have the allocated IMF funds available to the Entities and Brčko District as early as possible, to define joint measures for socio-economic response to the crisis, and in regard to that to define the required IFI’s financial support.
