Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Zoran Tegeltija in his address to the Fifth Western Balkans Investment Summit, held in London, in organisation of the European Reconstruction and Development Bank, called upon investors to invest to BIH, because they would invest to the friendly country.

According to Chairman Tegeltija, BIH has positive macro-economic indices.

“I am convinced that investors would take right decisions when it comes to BIH, which needs investments so as to link better with its surrounding. Investments we need most are those in energy sector, as we have huge potential for renewable sources of energy; investments  instead of war decisions  or those on BIH military forces”, Chairman Tegeltija said, adding that investing to a friendly country is a guarantee of stability and investment security, with no fear of having assets nationalised.

Chairman Tegeltija emphasised that infrastructure and renewable energy projects, coupled with a digitalisation process, may bring together institutional and private investors. He pointed out some priorities, such as investments to infrastructure, continuation of construction of the Corridor V c, construction of communications linking Sarajevo with Belgrade and Sarajevo with Podgorica and further towards Tirana, in addition to a plan for railway connection with countries of the region.

Tegeltija said that post-pandemics recovery of BIH economy is better than expected, since after the first priority to protect people’s health, it was important to enable the economy to make the country function.

“Unfortunately, non-affirmative talks stem from some BIH sources and are supported by others residing far away. We  believe that our friends who used to live once in BIH, as well as in our friends from the EBRD will convey to investors the real picture of BIIH”, Tegeltija said, adding that BIH population is aware of the importance of foreign investments for country’s development and life of citizens.
