Chairman Tegeltija and Minister Mitrović Meet with RS Chamber of Commerce Management

Chairman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Dr Zoran Tegeltija and Minister of Transport and Communications of BIH Vojin Mitrović talked in Banja Luka with Management of the Chamber of Commerce of Republika Srpska on activities to be taken jointly to deal with difficulties of the business-making. 

Chairman Tageltija said after the meeting that a task force will be formed to address salaries disburdening in terms of cutting contribution rates so that the savings would be used for workers’ salary increase.

“We will set-up five task forces comprising of representatives of all employers’ associations in BIH and those of the Entity Governments and Council of Ministers. The main issues will be the protection of domestic production, VAT, Public Procurement Law and set of issues referring to traffic”, the Chairman of the Council of Ministers said.

The meeting discussed what has been done well over previous period of time and yielded results.

“Many macroeconomic indices are at good level. We discussed what needs to be done jointly to solve the problems burdening business-making. There is a high level of agreement within the business community of BIH as to key problems, but there is also a huge problem concerning the lack of coordination, which is necessary to order to have an one-stop agreement. Therefore, we agreed to set-up five task forces”, Chairman Tegeltija explained.

He expressed his confidence that within the task forces and through joint work it would be possible to reach a high level of agreement and move to a legislative procedure in order to translate an agreement with employers into appropriate legal solutions.

Chairman of the Republika Srpska Chamber of Commerce Borko Đurić stressed that solution-finding to a series of pilled-up issues burdening economy lie ahead, which were not dealt with due to non-formation of government.

“We had a chance to agree on way to cooperate and define the key issues that need to be urgently addressed, since we have had more than a year-long standstill due to non-formation of authorities at the BIH level and consequent incapability to deal with the most urdent issues of the interest for our economy”, Đurić said.

According to him, the focus will be at BIH-level regulations related to economy, such as the Indirect Taxation Law, customs policy, transport and communication-related laws and other legislation.

“These are all issues requiring concrete agreements in order to start solving the pilled-up problems and simultaneously decrease burden imposed though the Law on Fees and certain dues stemming from by-laws and stumbling the economy”, Đurić emphasised.

Minister of Communications and Transport Vojin Mitrović said that as many problems exist in the area of traffic, he will hold meeting with the Federation of BIH business community representatives, as well, after which solutions will be sought to facilitate business making.

“We summoned here to hear positions of the business community of what kind of problems burden business people in Republika Srpska. It is on us to come up with solutions, not just in terms of laws, but regulations as well, the amendment of which would facilitate operation and decrease cost to economic entities. Our aim so facilitate transport of goods and passengers”, Mitrović said.
