BIH Reforms List Adopted for Implementation of Western Balkans Growth Plan

Bosnia and Herzegovina Work Team, chaired over by Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto, agreed a Reforms List with qualitative/quantitative steps for implementation of the Western Balkans Growth Plan. 

The Reforms List., approved by the Work Team, was also fully harmonised with recommendations by the European Commission, meaning more than 97 % reform activities agreed between representatives of the European Commission and BIH Directorate for European Integrations.

The Council of Ministers of BIH Directorate for Economic Planning will send the agreed Reforms List to the European Commission, so that this ambitious plan might be delivered under agreed-to dynamics in time between 2024 and 2027.

The adoption of the Western Balkans Reforms List will enable Bosnia and Herzegovina to get about EUR 1 billion from the European Commission for support to reforms in numerous areas. The aim is to enable stronger growth of economy, to secure rule of law, functional institutions, and to improve business climate and keep human resources in BIH. Reforms are simultaneously directed to creation od conditions for secure sustainable (green) energy, digital transition, improved IT infrastructure, including promotion of cybernetic security.

Chairwoman of the Council of Ministers of BIH Borjana Krišto thanked to the Work Team of Bosnia and Herzegovina and Delegation of the European Union in BIH for their diligent work during agreeing the reform agenda, noting that representatives of all-level authorities in BIH were included into the Work Team and thus showed their decisiveness and commitment to the European road and constructive internal dialogue to benefit all in BIH.(end)

The European Commission has earlier presented 2024-2027 Western Balkans Growth Plan worth EUR 6 billion, which should enable counties of the region to intensify their reforms and accelerate considerably the enlargement process and economic growth. (end)
