TO PREVENT ILLEGAL MIGRANTS’ ENTRY TO BIH 

The Council of Ministers of BIH took note of a report tabled by the Minister of Security, containing data about migration situation in Bosnia and Hercegovina - drafted by the Ministry of Security Immigration Department - piece of information on the status of migrations, review of the measures proposed and required measures proposal - drafted by the BIH Border Police - in addition to a report on the situation of illegal migrations in BIH, drafted by the Foreigners’ Service of BIH.

Those pieces of information contain measures the Minister of Security will take to prevent illegal entry by illegal migrants to the BIH territory, after informing the Council of Ministers of the deteriorated situation at the global level concerning illegal migrants.

The measures are meant to create conditions for Bosnia and Herzegovina to combat more successfully against illegal migrations lest it would became a hot spot for illegal migrants, which is a cause for both humanitarian and security problems.

CITIZENS TO ADHERE TO PRECAUTION MEASURES – NO PANICKING

The Council of Ministers of BIH took note of a piece of information of the Ministry of Civil Affairs on measures took in Bosnia and Herzegovina concerning prevention and suppression contamination by a new coronavirus (COVID-19), in effect by March 5 this year.

Measures are being continuously implemented in Bosnia and Herzegovina for early detection of possible suspicious cased, aiming prevention of disease spreading caused by the new coronavirus.

The session said that two patients were infected by corona virus in Republika Srpska (Banja Luka), and that the epidemic situation is monitored on the ground so there is no place for panicking.

The Ministry of Civil Affairs of BIH is in a constant communication and it coordinates its activities with the Ministry of Health and Welfare of Republika Srpska, Federal Ministry of Health, department for Health and Other Services of the Brčko District of BIH, Ministry of Security, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, foreigners’ Affairs Service and BIH Border Police, including with the World Health Organisation (BIH Office).

It was reiterated that for the citizens to adhere to the following preventive measures:

-          To avoid close contact with individuals with acute respiratory infection;

-          Individuals arriving from the areas caught by the new corona virus and having respiratory infection symptoms (high temperature, coughing, difficult breathing) to 14 days from their return, need to phone the nearby health institution for timely treatment and prevention of disease spreading;

-          Individuals having respiratory infection symptoms should while coughing cover their nose and mouth by disposable handkerchiefs;

-          Often hands washing by soap and water or alcohol wet tissues and prevention of face touching by unwashed hands.

BIH citizens and foreign citizens with the permanent residence in BIH are recommended not to travel to countries where new coronavirus (COVID-19) emerged.

The piece of information gives a review of implementation of health surveillance and measures taken at the levels of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, Republika Srpska and Brčko District of BIH for prevention of outburst and suppression of the contaminable disease caused by the new coronavirus.

Among measures that competent bodies in BIH implement in cooperation with the Broder police of BIH there is a targeted “entry screening” for passengers arriving form the areas of China, Italy, South Korea and Iran in terms that the passengers fill sanitary questionnaires and the collected entry data are provided to the competent health institutions, while passengers get recommendations.

NO DECISION ON TEMPORARY FINANCING

The Council of Ministers of BIH failed to take decision on temporary financing of Institutions of Bosnia and Herzegovina and international obligations of BIH for time period April – June 2020, because no consensus was reached, in accordance with Article 18 paragraph 2 of the Law on Coucnil of Ministres of BIH, with an obligation to apply Atricle 16 paragraph 3 of the Law.(end)
