The Council of Ministers took a Decision on a temporary ban of export of certain forest-wood articles and wood products, until October 31, 2022, at tis extraordinary session.

The Decision was taken in light of an initiative of the Government of Republika Srpska and Government of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, after it was asserted that the earlier decision failed to fulfil aims it had been taken for, which primarily refer to an enormous price growth of certain wood articles and wood products.

The ban of export of certain forest wood articles and wood products, classified into 13 tariff marks, including wood briquettes, was aimed to secure necessary quantities for wood-procession industry, to remove threats form serious or irreparable damage to wood-processing industry, to prevent critical shortages of heating wood for both citizens and economy and public institutions, including education, health and social care institutions, caused by a crisis at the world energy market.

Upon the expiry of the decision application deadline, the Council of Ministers of BIH will prolong protective measures defined under the decision, upon a proposal and based on reports by the Ministry of Foreign Trade an Economic Relations, until fulfilment of purposes for which the decision was taken.

The Council of Ministers of BIH may analyse of decision application before its expiry time in case the aims of its introduction are fulfilled, according to a report by the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Economic Relations.

The decision takes effect at the day of its adoption and will be published in the “Official Gazette of BIH” and Entity official gazettes.

As of taking effect of this decision, earlier decisions on temporary ban of export of certain forest wood articles, took at the 67th extraordinary session, including its amendment from the 54th regular session of the Council of Ministers of BIH, cease to be valid.
