Council of Ministers of BIH Holds Its 54th Extraordinary Session
06/30/2021
Earlier, it took note of a piece of information as to the start of application of the new customs legislation, which will be passed to the Parliamentarian Assembly of BIH.
The amendment shifts the deadline for application of the decision on implementation the Law on Customs Policy in BIH from July 1 to August 1, 2021.
It opens space for taking a new law on customs infringements of Bosnia and Herzegovina, which is a precondition for a full application of new customs regulations, securing its simultaneous application with the Law on Customs Policy in BIH.
The Council of Ministers defined the Proposal Law on Customs Infringements of Bosnia and Herzegovina at its 40th session of June 16th, 2021, and sent it to the Parliamentarian Assembly for consideration under urgent legislative procedure.
The session adopted a piece of information of the Ministry of Finance and Treasury concerning the membership and representation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in the BEPS Inclusive Framework (Base Erosion and Profit Sharing) and Global Forum for Transparency and Exchange of Information for Tax Purposes. The piece of information will be passed to the BIH Presidency, with a proposal to have the Ministry of Finance and Treasury authorised (Minister or other authorised person) to represent Bosnia and Herzegovina in these international organisations, with prior consent of responsible Entity and Brčko District of BIH institutions as to direct taxes.
The piece of information was adopted just ahead of a planned plenary meeting of the BEPS Inclusive Framework.
Bosnia and Herzegovina has earlier acceded to the Inclusive Framework (2019) an OECD Global Forum (2018), thus joining members of these organisation in their effort to reach tax transparency. (end)
